Kuwait- Fighting in Libya's Tripoli inflicts 115 deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- Latest round of fighting in several districts of he Libyan capital Tripoli has left 115 people dead and more 380 others wounded, according to Libyan media monitored here on Sunday.
The clashes broke out again after fragile calm between "Salah Badi brigades" which opposes the internationally-recognized consensus government and units of the central security squad, affiliated with the ministry of interior.
Big blasts echoed along the airport road the south of the city during the clashes.
Meanwhile, the department of the injured affairs, a body affiliated with the ministry of health, said the clashes have claimed 115 lives, adding that 380 people have been wounded in the ongoing violence.
Tripoli has been witnessing on and off fighting since August 26 between armed groups loyal to the government and opposition militias.
The United Nations had mediated a cease-fire effective as of September 4th, however the truce has been breached repeatedly. (end) ksj.rk
