Syrian opposition warns forced evacuation in Daraa to alter demography

(MENAFN) The evacuations imposed on Syria's southwestern Daraa province is targeting an alteration in the demographic structure within the area, as suggested the Syrian opposition.

The statement has been made on Friday by the chairman of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Abdurrahman Mustafa during a press conference.

The chief stressed "the Assad regime, backed by Iran, began the forced evacuation in Daraa. The same scenario took place in Eastern Ghouta and Homs before."

Mustafa then noted that "as a result of this forced migration policy, there is now a large population density in Idlib."

He added that "the regions have left to their fate" given that the United States departed the areas where it was a guarantor country.
