Deputy PM: US not major partner of Turkey
(MENAFN) Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek suggested that the US is not a major trade partner of Turkey despite being an important country.
Businessmen in the western province of Bursa raised fears to the deputy prime minister over a potential global trade war at a meeting, he said on US tariffs and threats.
Simsek noted "Turkey is one of the countries least affected with regard to trade, especially automotive export, but a trade war will wreck the mood generally."
He also expressed his wished for the US decision to impose tariffs to be merely a negotiation tactic.
