Jordan to receive over USD1bn annual American aid


(MENAFN) Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has signed an agreement with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson which entails the US to allocate more than $1 billion a year to Jordan.

The annual aid package of the US to Jordan has been increased to $275 million through the $1.3 billion annual deal.

The US is to offer, under the terms of the agreement, over $750 million annually in economic aid along with $350 million in military support.

Jordan has acquired over $20 billion support from the US since 1951, marking it as one of the most major receivers of American aid.
