Lebanon employs McKinsey for economic restructure


(MENAFN) According to Lebanon Economy and Trade Minister Raed Khoury, management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. is to be employed in order to aid in revamping economy to be excessively dependent on remittances and banking.

Lebanon is set to ink the six-month contract with the company by the end of the week as the firm is prepared to work with a number of ministries and economic bodies as of next week to make an effort for a new economic image to be created.

The former Barclays Wealth banker and founder of Cedrus Invest Bank stated "the government has been historically nearly absent in putting policies and procedures to do that. The first thing we want to do is to identify our economic identity and then go to more specific things."
