Kuwait launches program for disabled people in Tanzania


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait launched a program to aid disabled people and those with Albinism disease in Tanzania, at a cost of USD 500,000 in time with the International Day of Disabled Persons on 3rd December.

The program will be executed within one year in most Tanzanian cities including Zanzibar island, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tanzania Jassim Al-Najim said in a statement received by KUNA on Sunday.

He added that the program is run in cooperation with NGOs and other international organizations working in Tanzania.

As part of the program's launch, Al-Najim presented medical equipment including wheelchairs, crutches and hearing aid to Tanzania's Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled Jenista Mhagama.
