After resentment, Trump stops elephant trophy imports
(MENAFN)US President Donald Trump tweeted on Friday that he is allowing imports of elephant trophies on hold after he has been criticized by conservation advocates and social media activists.
his decision came hours after his administration on Friday allowed hunters who kill elephants in Zimbabwe to bring their trophies back to the United States, which was banned by the Obama administration.
"Put big game trophy decision on hold until such time as I review all conservation facts. Under study for years. Will update soon with Secretary Zinke. Thank you!" Trump tweeted.
"both believe that conservation and healthy herds are critical." Ryan Zinke said as he spoke with Trump.
