(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Waljat College of Applied Sciences successfully organised the graduation ceremony of summer classes for 119 Omani students from different schools. All the students were awarded with participation certificates.
The graduation ceremony of Summer Programme 2017 was presided over by chief guest Mohammed Mirza al Balushi, along with dean, prof (Dr) S L Gupta and Zaid Khalifa Said al Shekili, admin and HR manager, Ruwaiya, manager, Student Affairs, Dr Vijaya, head, Academic Coordination and Academic Support Services, and staff member of WCAS.
The dean thanked Trustee Council members, WCAS for their support and approval of this programme, organising committee members and students for attending the courses. He said that WCAS created a platform for the school students to learn three skills such as English language skills, Information Technology skills and soft skills.
Dr Gupta also mentioned the importance of opportunities, belief and trust in oneself with a positive attitude, being slow but steady, practicing to be perfect, and working hard to earn respect.
Shekili who was the backbone in organising this summer programme also taught soft skills to the students. He expressed his happiness on the response of the students.
Dr Vijaya in her speech thanked the dean Dr Gupta for the support and approval for organising this summer programme. She also thanked all the organising committee members for their support in making this programme a grand success.
She also thanked the Khatwa team for the overall management of the graduation ceremony.
Students were part of various cultural activities such as poetry, playing music with the guitar and sharing their experiences through a video.
Students who participated in this programme thanked all the staff members and the management for organising the summer programme.
In addition, also stressed that such programmes should be organised every year so that more and more students can benefitted.
The dean along with the chief guest gave the participation certificate to the students and appreciation certificate to the organising committee members.
