N. Korea's rice production to reach 2.4m tons

(MENAFN) N. Korea's rice production for this year is predicted to reach 2.4mn tons, an increase of 500.000 tons from last year.Accordingly, the Food and Agriculture Organization proclaimed that weather conditions have been favorable for the main rice-growing regions.In addition, the country's food shortage of some 700.000 tons has to be either imported or offered by global humanitarian assistance.Meanwhile, the country secured 29.000 tons of food so far, which is 4 percent of the amount needed.
