Saudi Arabia receives 9 Guantanamo Yemeni detainees
RIYADH 17th April 2016 (WAM) -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has approved a request from the Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansur Hadi to received 9 Yemeni detainees from Guantanamo prison.
Relatives of the Yemenis who are residents in the Kingdom have already submitted requests to the Saudi authorities to receive them based on the fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Yemen according to a security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior in Riyadh.
According to the Saudi Press Agency SPA the nine detainees have already arrived in the Kingdom and the spokesman added that their relatives had been contacted and arrangements made to facilitate their meeting.
The spokesman concluded by saying that they will be subject to all applicable regulations applied in the Kingdom.
