US Drone Strike Kills Five Militants in Eastern Afghanistan
(MENAFN- QNA) At least five militants were killed following a US drone strike in eastern Kunar province of eastern Afghanistan on Friday, security officials said Saturday.
Provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Habib Syed Khel said in a statement that the five militants were killed and three others were injured following the airstrike, Khaama Press (KP) reported.
Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
