Oman Photography Club announces contest winners
A two-week exhibition of the winning and other select photographs will also be held at the MoHE hall on the same day. The annual Oman Photography Competition is one the most sought-after contests in the sultanate.
The competition which began in mid-March received 293 entries till its closing date on July 10. Photographs of deserts, mountains, wadis and natural habitat were submitted from all over the country.
Speaking about the competition, an official from the club said, ''We are glad that more and more Omanis and expatriates are taking part in the contest. We are extremely happy with the response. This clearly shows the level of interest and talent among these photographers.''
He added that the entries have covered some of the undiscovered natural beauty of the country. ''Last year, we didn't have so many entries. Photographs were allowed in sepia, black and white and colour.'' The subject for the competition was Panorama. ''The youngest photographer was 16 years old while the oldest was 50 years old.'
