No publication of 'tape issue' probe


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait city april 17 (kuna): the ministry of information stressed the need for all media outlets and social networking websites to prevent the distribution of investigations carried out by the public prosecutor into the local tape issue. in a statement exclusive to kuna the ministry quoted by its undersecretary salah al- mubaraky on wednesday underlined that legal action will be taken out on offenders of this decision namely written audio and visual forms of media.

the decision is being taken in the best interests of the investigation and in the public interest the statement added. meanwhile the minister of information and state minister for youth sheikh salman sabah salem al-humoud al- sabah hailed the role of local reporters describing them as 'anonymous soldiers' who have contributed greatly to the modernization and development of the country.

'journalism and public freedoms have always been a cause for support from the political leadership of kuwait' he said at the 38th anniversary of the launch of local newspaper al-anbaa on wednesday.
