Qatar- Fun, culinary treats make food festival a success
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Entertainment proved a big hit at the fifth Qatar International Food Festival which concluded yesterday at Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park
Thousands more visitors poured through the gates not only to sample the vast range of culinary treats on offer but also enjoy the exciting international entertainment such as the acrobatic Italian Pizza Chefs, the musical Korean Chefs, the Chefs' Parade and the music and light show
Pizzaioli, the freestyle pizza acrobatic team from Italy, wooed the crowds with its twirling and throwing of pizza dough choreographed to music; Nanpa, the Delicious Food Comic Korean Chefs, got the audience going with their non-verbal, traditional-rhythm, comedy and drama show; and the Chefs' Parade every two hours entertained kids and adults alike with food-related costumes, music and mascots
The Doha Golf Club supported the events with its golf competition, and the festival was back-dropped by amazing synchronised music and light show.
For those wanting to learn more about the art of cooking, there was the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre where celebrity TV Chef Ramzi Choueiri and Qatari Chef Aysha Al Tamimi showcased culinary skills. With 11 general zones, the International Zone, the Healthy & Active Zone, the Snack Zone, the Family Zone and the Qatar Brazil Zone and the live cooking zone, as well as 55 food stalls and the entertainment, there was something for everyone
