UK's Oct inflation rate rises to 2.7%

(MENAFN) The UK's Office for National Statistics announced that the country's annual inflation level rose to 2.7 percent in October, reported AP. The agency attributed the increase mainly to higher university fees, however, other factors contributed to the October rise, including higher clothing, shoes, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices. It added that October's consumer price inflation rate was the highest since May, when it was 2.8 percent. The British government plans to keep inflation at or around 2 percent. It is worth noting that in September, UK's headline annual inflation level was at 2.2 percent.
