(MENAFN) Colombia was announced to have opened its polls in the presidential elections, with over 36 million eligible voters ready to cast their vote.
Colombia was also confirmed to have opened more than 11,000 polling stations in various parts of the country.
Security forces of around 115,000 personnel have been scattered across the country to make sure that the election goes on peacefully.
Polling stations are to be opened at 8:00am and closed at 4:00pm local time, with almost 100 international observes to be present to keep an eye on the elections.
