(MENAFN) China has explained its latest military exercises to have been carried out as an "extremely clear" to Taiwan of China's preparation for measures to be taken against any separatist attempt.
The drills have been a message that demonstrates China's willingness for further measures to be employed to preserve peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait as well as people's interests, as stated by China's Taiwan Affairs Office spokesman Ma Xiaoguang.
The spokesman stressed "we have the resolute will, full confidence, and sufficient ability to foil any form of Taiwan independence separatist plots and moves and to defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
He then warned the self-ruled island, saying that if its "independence forces continue to do as they please, we will take further steps."
