Chhattisgarh: Two villagers killed by Naxals in Kondagaon district

Two villagers have been killed allegedly by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district, police said.

The incident reportedly took place late last night in Aadnar village under Bayanar police station limits, said Kondagaon Additional Superintendent of Police Maheshwar Nag.

As per preliminary information, a group of armed Naxals stormed into the village located 40km away from Kondagaon town and killed the two.

A police team was sent to the spot this morning, Nag said, adding further details are awaited.

Earlier yesterday, they also killed a contractor and torched four machines engaged in road construction work in Bijapur.

However, ten Naxals, including a woman in Kondagaon district, surrendered themselves before the police.

The rebels said that they were impressed by the state government's surrender and rehabilitation policy.
