Environment Ministry: One Case of H5N8 Avian Flu Recorded in Saudi Arabia in Previous 24 Hours

Riyadh, Jumada II 25, 1439, March 13, 2018, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture announced that one case of H5N8 avian flu has been recorded in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the previous 24 hours in Qassim Region.
In its daily briefing, the ministry affirmed that the number of samples collected from the Kingdom's regions since the beginning of the spread of the disease reached 10,360. The results disclosed that 159 of these samples tested positive. As many as 28,342 birds were culled in the previous 24 hours.
The statement said the Ministry received eight notifications and 17 enquiries in the previous 24 hours.
