Iran urges Bahrain to communicate with people

(MENAFN) On Monday, the Iranian foreign ministry urged the Bahraini government to engage in direct dialogue with its people instead of resorting to repressive methods which have proven futile.

A spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, Bahram Qassemi, denied recent accusations by the Bahraini authorities against Tehran which claim that 48 people arrested by the Bahraini authorities were trained in camps controlled by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Iraq and Lebanon.

The Iranian ministry labeled the claims as tedious and repetitive, adding that they will not solve the ruling regime's crisis.

To add fuel to fire, the Bahraini Ministry of the Interior recently announced the arrest of 116 Shiite "militias" claiming they were supported by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to plan terrorist attacks.

Earlier in January, Bahrain arrested 47 people on terrorism-related charges.
