DUBAI, 19th February, 2018 (WAM) -- The Ministry of State for Federal National Council, FNC, Affairs has announced plans to launch two new apps – "Zayed and Political Participation" and "You are in the FNC" – as part of its participation in UAE Innovation Month and to highlight its commitment to launching initiatives that raise political awareness and promote political participation.
The "Zayed and Political Participation" application will feature images, video clips and audio files that highlight the achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE, and his contributions to the Federal National Council, Shura and parliamentary life in the UAE.
Meanwhile, the virtual "You are in the Federal National Council" application will contribute to enhancing knowledge and awareness about the Council with users gaining insights on the agenda of the meetings, key facts discussed, ways to discuss pertinent issues in the Council, and details on the interaction between members and the government on relevant subjects.
Tariq Hilal Lootah, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs, said, "The smart applications that we plan to launch highlight our commitment to involve the UAE community in celebrating the Year of Zayed. The apps will provide insights into the historic achievements by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan that contributed to building a national parliamentary experience in line with the aspirations of the UAE community, and meeting the needs of the country and the people.
"These initiatives strengthen awareness on government action and the development and consolidation of a culture of political participation among members of society. This is a key objective of the Ministry and the launch of the two innovative Apps underscores our focus on keeping pace with the UAE's development strategy and the vision of our leadership to promote the application of cutting-edge technology across government entities."
Lootah went on to say that UAE Innovation Month is an opportunity that enables all sectors of society to participate effectively in realising the UAE leadership's vision of integrating innovation as a way of life. It also underpins the importance of innovation in the development and promotion of government work to strengthen the UAE's position among the world's most innovative countries.
The "You Are in the Federal National Council" App is a simulation of the authentic experience of attending a session of the Council and to watch events and video clips through virtual reality. This gives users the experience of being right next to the government representatives.
It aims to enrich the knowledge of the public on the nature of the UAE's parliamentary life as well as informs the community on the work being undertaken at the Federal National Council. It also introduces them to the efforts of the MFNCA to enhance coordination and cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities to achieve the bests interests of the country and its citizens.
The App also provides the community with an opportunity to learn about the mechanisms of coordination and cooperation between the government and the Federal National Council as well as about the discussions aimed at enhancing the welfare of society. It will help consolidate the values of belonging and loyalty to the nation, and promotes public participation in the UAE's sustainable and comprehensive development.
