King, Queen visit Louvre Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Feb. 8 (Petra)--Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania on Thursday, visited Louvre Abu Dhabi that sheds light on human artistic creativity as well as common values of different civilizations and cultures.
Their Majesties toured a number halls in the museum, the first international museum in the Arab world, and took a first hand look at art pieces displayed that date back to various ages.
Among the exhibits is one of the ancient statues of Ain Ghazal, which was selected as a sample of the 36 statues found at the Ain Ghazal archaeological site in Amman. It tells the history of the ancient civilizations that settled in Jordan, 10,000 years ago.
Their Majesties were also briefed on the facilities and collections of the museum, which includes more than 600 pieces of ancient artifacts and contemporary art, as well as 300 pieces of borrowed works from French museums.
The King and Queen were accompanied by the Director of His Majesty's Office.
