Namibia sees trade deficit in Q3


(MENAFN) According to Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA), the country has recorded a trade shortfall of 612m USD in Q3, a 608m USD increase from last year.

NSA has declared in the Third Quarter Trade Statistics 2017 report that the extending of trade deficit by 0.6% was resulted by a decline in export.

Statistician General of NSA said: "Overall exports declined by 2.5 % and imports plunged by 1.4 percent in the same quarter last year."

According to him, the major export markets for Namibia were South Africa, Botswana, Switzerland, China and Spain, while imports to the country were mainly from South Africa, Bulgaria, China, Botswana and Zambia.
