Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani underlined that Qatar's National Day is an important day for everyone on this precious land, adding that it strengthens and renews the feeling of belonging of citizens and residents, and has a positive impact on the national fabric.
Speaking to QNA on the occasion, Sheikh Abdullah praised Qatar's diplomacy which is characterized with openness and transparency with all countries of the world. This characteristic helped it overcome the crisis. He added that the success of the State in securing the country's full needs proved the advance levels of the plans and the high-quality crisis management in the State. Additionally, the crisis led to unity between citizens and residents.
QIA has, recently, realised many achievements including, the continuous implementation of the new strategy, which was approved by the Board of Directors and the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment in 2015. The new strategy calls for increasing liquidity in the portfolio by investing in index portfolios and fixed income bonds, and raising the proportion of investments in North America, specifically in the US, as the performance of the US stock markets were excellent during this period.
