US analysts raise concerns over North Korea biotech capabilities pursue


(MENAFN) According to the Washington Post Sunday report, some fears were brought up by US analysts over North Korea's potential to push for an industrial-scale production of biological pathogens which it would be able to employ in terrorizing neighbors and US troops.

Pyongyang is attempting to get a hold of machinery to employ in the program and 'factories that can produce microbes by the ton,' as the report cited US and Asian intelligence officials.

The paper was told by a US official "that the North Koreans have (biological) agents is known, by various means, the lingering question is, why have they acquired the materials and developed the science, but not yet produced weapons?"
