Senate condemns Sinai mosque attack


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 26 (Petra)--The Senate condemned the terrorist and cowardly attack that targeted Al Rawda Mosque in Egypt's northern Sinai province Friday, leaving 305 dead and 127 others injured.

In a statement on Sunday, the Senate said this heinous crime and cowardly act that was committed by the forces of terrorism and extremism should prompt us all to counter takfiri groups, defend Islam and noble values and preserve the right of all to live in peace and security.

The Senate affirmed its belief that the Egyptian people, leadership and security and military agencies will bring the perpetrators to justice and will not allow them to tamper with the security and stability of Egypt.

It also called on all Jordanians to stand behind His Majesty King Abdullah II to confront all extremist and terrorist organizations.

The Senate offered condolences to the Egyptian leadership, people and the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
