Pakistan- Implementation of law on violence against women sought
Thirty participants from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA were given training during the workshop which was organised at a local hotel. The organisation's Chief Executive Khursheed Bano said laws on violence against women have been enacted, but these laws are not being implemented in letter and spirit, due to which the incidents of violence against women are frequently occurring in all parts of the country. She said the main cause of violence against women is ignorance and lack of awareness about women's rights. She said 30 participants have been trained at the workshop in this regard. She said the trained participants will now play role in resolving problems of women in their respective areas.
Khursheed Bano said laws on violence against women must be implemented in letter and spirit.
