Kuwait- Egyptian researcher deported

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22: The Ministry of Interior deported controversial Egyptian researcher Ahmad Saad Zayed after parliamentary threats and calls for his deportation, reports Al-Qabas daily. Zayed came to the country in response to the invitation of the Cultural Society to deliver a lecture entitled, 'Nonreligiousness, Challenges of Religious Thought in the Era of Science,' in other words 'Science versus Pseudoscience' but the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor suspended it.

Also, Al-Rai daily has reported that shortly before his deportation, the Egyptian researcher responded to some MPs and critics following the cancellation of his lecture. He ended up being a guest in one of the Kuwaiti diwaniyas, saying he does not care about the talks of MPs and his detractors.

Zayed asserted he is not an atheist and the accusations were hurled by the 'ignorant,' pointing out there are so many people like Tabtabaei in Egypt who want to destroy the pyramids and statues. He wished for Tabtabaei to have a direct discussion with him, adding that the space of agreement between them shall be greater than the space of difference if he is honest within the sense of goodness, righteousness and beauty in this part of the world, not controlled by false news and superstitious beliefs.
