British Gas dismisses standard tax for new customers
(MENAFN) By April next year, British Gas will abandon its expensive standard variable tariffs (SVTs) for new customer.
This move would decrease average bills, as it said, while such moves have already been declared by E.On and Scottish Power.
This energy giant said there will be more moves to prompt its customers on SVT to go toward cheaper deals.
As for the customers already on fixed-term contracts who couldn't decide on a substitute, they will be on a non-payment tariff.
