Qatar- Key ministry of a siege nation behind QNA hacking: AG

Attorney-General H E Dr Ali bin Fetais Al Marri said that an important ministry in one of GCC blockading countries is involved in the hacking of Qatar News Agency (QNA). He was speaking in a program Al-Jazeera channel 'Bila Hudud (Without Borders) yesterday evening.

In response to a question on the latest results of the investigations carried out by the Public Prosecution in the hacking of QNA after the Washington Post's report which revealed, quoting US intelligence officials, that Abu Dhabi is behind the hacking of the QNA, Al Marri said that in the hacking of the QNA is a complete crime.

'In normal cases, the countries from where the hacking was done are supposed to give information and cooperate with you but under the unjust and unfair siege imposed on Qatar the cooperation with others is difficult. It is creating a kind of perplexity in the investigation. He pointed out that despite these hurdles, Qatari authorities had concluded that a key ministry of one of the siege countries is involved in the hacking, and 'I am very sorry to say that this is a GCC country whose key ministry committed this crime.

In response to another question on whether this country is the UAE, the Attorney-General said: 'Investigations are still under way and the transparent results will be announced on time.
