Saudi Flynas, Airbus ink USD8.6bn deal


(MENAFN) Saudi carrier Flynas signed an USD8.6bn deal with European plane producer Airbus to purchase 80 A320neo single-aisle jets.

Accordingly, in Riyadh the deal involves an option for 40 more of the short to medium-haul planes, to cater the growing local market.

In addition, the 10-year-old airline operates the A320, leasing almost 30 of the aircraft and its passenger numbers now surpass 6mn annually.

Saudi Arabian Airlines is the dominant player and plans to increase itw own fleet to 200 aircraft by 2020.
