UAE- DEWA organises hackathon challenge to encourage innovation among employees

DUBAI, 12th January, 2017 (WAM) -- Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has organised a hackathon challenge to encourage its employees to innovate and create new ideas to develop DEWA's services and achieve the happiness of its customers.

This is in line with the directives of the wise leadership to encourage and enhance innovation across all areas. It also supports DEWA's efforts to instill a culture of innovation among all stakeholders.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, commended the innovative ideas and solutions presented by the participants and gave his directions to study their application at DEWA.

"DEWA strives to achieve the vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to adopt innovation as a corporate approach and as part of social culture in the UAE.

"Our initiatives and programmes support the Dubai Plan 2021 for the government of Dubai to be a pioneering and excellent government that is proactive and creative in meeting the needs of individuals and society as a whole. We aim to enhance innovation and creativity as two major pillars of a successful future, to enhance the UAE's position as a country that puts the happiness and welfare of its people at the forefront of its priorities," said Al Tayer.
