Panasonics advanced audiovisual equipment helped shared the passion of the Rio Olympic Games across the globe, a senior official of the Japanese electronics giant told Khaleej Times.Panasonic Corporation is the Official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner in the Audio and Visual Equipment category for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

It is our constant endeavour to bring the latest in technology and products through our years of expertise in covering Olympics Games, Anthony Peter, director of Corporate Communications and Operations Division at Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa, told this scribe at the event.

Peter mentioned that for the first time, Panasonic signed a contract with the Organising Committee for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Rio 2016) to serve as partner for the opening and closing ceremonies, using the companys latest audiovisual technologies and projection mapping technologies.

A wide range of audiovisual equipment was supplied to the Maracan Stadium host to the Rio Olympics opening ceremony on August 5 including around 110 compact projectors which offer superb brightness and high picture quality, as well as 2ME live switchers designed for multiple broadcasting standards.

To enliven the viewing experience for spectators at the Rio Olympic and Paralympic competition venues, Panasonic is working in close partnership with the International Olympic Committee and other related bodies to support operations at the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, and IBC through our solutions technologies and audiovisual equipments thereby, sharing the passion of the game across the globe, Peter said.

Talking about his experience during the Rio Olympics, he replied that the Rio conjures up an image of fun, frolic and games and, it was truly so.

Olympic stadiums at scenic settings weaving through natures most vibrant beaches and neighborhood, Rio 2016, was a life-time trip for me and for the many delegates we hosted as Official Sponsor to watch the games.

The trials and the tribulations of the athletes were all there to see, either LIVE or on large LED screens whether at the venue or out in the open the excitement was amazing. And, to know that Panasonic played a huge part in the broadcast through its equipment and technology while watching it live on the many large Panasonic screens gave me a proud feeling, he added.

Peter, who also attended London Olympics in 2012, said: Both countries are very rich in their history and tradition. The way each country expressed their message to the audiences through the opening ceremony was a statement by itself. Most importantly, they both spoke about passion of sports that brings people together as one big global family. A unique language of Olympics that unites people. Once it comes to the competition, the excitement was all the same.
