(MENAFN - Arab News) Kfupm rector dr. khalid bin saleh al-sultan inaugurated the 8th symposium on industrial systems and control organized by the department of systems engineering on tuesday.
in his opening speech al-sultan assured the attendees that the university encourages and supports efforts that add value to the advancement in different fields of science and engineering. he also added that kfupm supports all efforts of research and development that lead to improvements of applications or services in industries.
al-sultan said 'the participation of scholars and practitioners from academia and industry is evidence of the high quality of this workshop."
he emphasized the importance of the diversity of the program which includes 46 technical talks with state-of-the-art topics.
'the panel discussion addresses a very important topic under the title 'profile of future control engineers" which is an issue of contemporary interest especially with the increasing demand for professionals in this area not only in saudi arabia but globally" he said.
chairman of the organizing committee dr. fouad m. al-sunni said that the symposium aims at gathering manufacturers academicians and practitioners and end users to share their expertise.
he said 'the symposium includes 46 technical talks in addition to two training sessions in the field of industrial operation warnings and the new advancements for protecting systems from viruses."
