(MENAFNEditorial) Nas Tech the engineering & maintenance subsidiary of NAS Holding and flynas Saudi Arabia's National Carrier are launching a new Technical Training programme for Saudi youth with high school certificates.
The Aircraft Engineer Maintenance Programme (AEMP) is scheduled to start on May 5, 2014 for a duration of 5 years, and will qualify successful trainees with the EASA 147 certificate and EASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License issued by the. European Aviation Safety Agency which is the centre piece of the European Union's aviation safety system comprised of the Agency, the European Commission and the National Aviation Authorities (NAAs). EASA is the European version of the USA Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificate and has higher standards and is more recognized in the maintenance industry.

The Aircraft Engineer Maintenance Programme is being held in partnership with the Afaq Academy in Bahrain and training will take place at NasTech classes in Riyadh.
27 trainees have been accepted for the program which consists of 5 years of training; 1 year of English Language and 4 years of studying for the EASA certificate.

After completing the training, flynas will recommend the most outstanding trainees to study for their Bachelor's degree, which for EASA 147 certificate holders requires only a further 7 months of studying.

The AEMP is the latest in a series of NAS Holding training programmes for Saudi youth, First Officers Programme which targets graduating 150 First Officers and from which 70 trainees have graduated to date; the Flight Dispatchers Programme targeting 50 graduates out of which 10 trainees have graduated to date; and the Cabin Crew Programme which is currently in progress and has a target graduating more than 150 cabin crew.
