Govt to pay in case of an epidemic

(MENAFN- Arab News) The saudi government would have to pay for the treatment of people infected with the middle east respiratory syndrome (mers) coronavirus if an epidemic is declared in the country according to a jeddah chamber of commerce and industry (jcci) official.

adnan khoja a member of the jcci's insurance committee said insurance companies are currently covering treatment costs but would change the policies of their clients in an epidemic.

"nobody has the authority to declare an epidemic except the ministry of health " he said.
