Oman CPI up 1.1 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) Figure by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the general consumer price index (CPI) in Oman increased 1.1 percent in 201, Times of Oman reported



The rise in inflation was as a result of an increase in food prices which rose 2.8 percent in 2013



The largest contributors to the increase were vegetables, which rose by 8.4 percent, fish and seafood, up 7.3 percent and fruit increasing 4.4 percent in 2013



Other food products remained somewhat steady, with a 0.9 percent increase in milk, cheese, bread, cereals and eggs prices, and a 1.2 percent increase in meat prices
