(MENAFN) German authorities arrested a 17-year-old Dutch national following two explosions in Frankfurt early Thursday, according to reports.

Police said the teenager was detained near the scene in the Nordend district and is expected to appear before a judge.

No injuries were reported in the incidents, although both blasts caused property damage. The explosions occurred just minutes apart during the early morning hours, when it was still dark.

The first blast took place in Nordend, followed shortly afterward by another explosion on Zeil, a major shopping street in the city center.

The explosion at a cafe was powerful enough to damage a soup bar across the street, a nearby bank and at least one parked vehicle. The blast also woke numerous residents in the surrounding area.

“The bang was extremely loud. It was like being at war,” a local resident said, according to reports. “I have never heard anything like it. It shook my whole body,” she added.
