(MENAFN) Türkiye on Thursday denounced a recent drone attack against Saudi Arabia and other actions attributed to the Houthis, while expressing support for measures adopted by 12 countries to restrict commercial and business dealings with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

During the National Defense Ministry’s weekly briefing in Ankara, ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk said Türkiye opposes the drone attack directed at Saudi Arabia, as well as other actions carried out by the Houthi group.

Akturk said activities that threaten stability in the region should come to an end as quickly as possible. He warned that continued Houthi activity in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait poses risks not only to regional security but also to international shipping and broader global stability.

Addressing Israel’s regional actions, Akturk said the situation was being further destabilized by simultaneous Israeli attacks in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.

He also welcomed measures introduced by 12 countries, including the UK, France and Canada, to restrict trade and commercial relations with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Akturk urged the international community to move beyond verbal statements and adopt “concrete and deterrent measures” in response to Israeli attacks on camps housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza and residential districts in southern Lebanon.
