(MENAFN) Falling debris from a Houthi drone intercepted over Taif in western Saudi Arabia killed one person and injured two others on Thursday, according to reports.

Saudi Civil Defense teams were dispatched to the area after fragments from the destroyed drone fell across parts of the city following the interception.

A Yemeni national died in the incident, while a Saudi woman and a Pakistani national sustained injuries. The Pakistani resident was reported to be in critical condition.

The falling fragments also caused property damage, affecting several buildings and vehicles in the area.

Saudi authorities said the drone had been launched by Yemen’s Houthi group, according to reports.
