Poland’s PM Visits Kyiv for Discussions with Zelensky

(MENAFN) Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kyiv on Thursday for meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, marking a high-profile diplomatic visit to the Ukrainian capital.

The arrival was confirmed by Ukraine’s foreign minister, who welcomed Tusk in Kyiv and characterized the visit as “important.” In a message shared on social media, he emphasized Poland’s role in backing Ukraine and highlighted the close ties between the two countries.
“Poland is a leader in supporting Ukraine, including energy assistance. We value this solidarity and our strategic partnership,” Sybiha wrote on US social media company X.

He further noted that Ukraine was anticipating an “impactful” visit and “meaningful” discussions between the Polish prime minister and President Zelenskyy.

Tusk had announced earlier in the week that he would travel to Kyiv following an invitation from the Ukrainian leader. He underscored the urgency of standing by Ukraine as it continues to face severe challenges.

“At this critical time, Ukraine cannot be left all alone,” Tusk wrote on X Monday, referring to the country’s ongoing difficulties amid war-related damage, a declared emergency in the energy sector, and harsh winter weather following Russian strikes.
