Iraq Reopens Airspace, Resumes Flights
Baghdad, June 8 (Petra) -- Iraq's Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) announced Monday that the country's airspace is reopened to flights arriving at or departing from all its airports, with air operations resuming under approved operational procedures.
The ICAA announced a temporary closure of its airspace on Sunday evening following a flareup of tension in the region.
It said in a statement today that today's decision covers the resumption of air traffic across all airports in Iraq, ensuring a smooth movement of flights.
However, it said it will continue to monitor and assess the regional situation in coordination with relevant authorities to maintain the highest levels of safety and security.
