Israeli Strike Hits Iran Petrochemical Plant, Partial Damage Confirmed

(MENAFN) An Israeli airstrike struck a major petrochemical facility in Mahshahr, Iran on Monday, partially damaging the industrial site, Iranian provincial authorities confirmed.

A news agency cited Valiollah Hayati, deputy governor for security affairs in Khuzestan province, who addressed reporters following the incident: "A few minutes ago, the Karun Mahshahr Petrochemical Company was attacked by the Zionist enemy, and part of this industrial complex was damaged as a result of the projectiles hitting it."

Hayati confirmed that no lives were lost or injuries sustained in the strike, though a full damage assessment remains pending.

"Further details about the extent of damage as well as possible casualties will be announced," Hayati added.

Iranian authorities have yet to release an official comprehensive report on the scale of the destruction caused to the Karun Mahshahr Petrochemical Company, one of the country's key industrial complexes located in the oil-rich southwestern province of Khuzestan.
