Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, successfully delivered its School Lecture Programme to approximately 3,200 students across 22 international schools in Qatar during April and May 2026, reinforcing positive values, ethical behavior, and social awareness among students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

The programme, which forms part of the center's ongoing educational and outreach initiatives, witnessed strong engagement from participating schools and students. The lectures addressed a range of important topics aimed at promoting positive conduct and responsible citizenship, including bullying prevention, constructive ways of dealing with crises and challenges, and interactive discussions that provided answers to students' questions and concerns.

Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, Director of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, highlighted the significance of the initiative, describing it as one of the center's key programmes.

“The school lecture programme is among the vital initiatives that the center is committed to implementing,” Dr. Al Marri said.“Targeting students who are non-Arabic speakers represents one of the center's main areas of work in raising awareness among the expatriate communities residing in Qatar.”

He noted that the center places particular emphasis on promoting civilizational values, enhancing awareness, and fostering understanding among diverse audiences through educational content tailored to their needs and aspirations.

“This contributes to strengthening positive behaviors within the school environment and supports constructive cultural interaction among the various segments of society,” he added.

The participating schools expressed appreciation for the awareness and educational efforts undertaken by the center, praising the relevance of the topics presented and the interactive approach adopted during the sessions. School administrations also voiced interest in expanding cooperation with the center and strengthening future partnerships, including organizing field visits to the center's headquarters to learn more about its programmes and activities.

The School Lecture Programme aligns with the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, which seeks to enhance educational and outreach efforts through modern and effective methods that engage different segments of society, particularly expatriate communities.

The initiative also reflects the ministry's commitment to building effective partnerships with educational institutions and promoting a culture of positive values and behaviors that contribute to social cohesion and mutual understanding in Qatar's multicultural environment.

Through programmes such as these, the ministry aims to strengthen cultural awareness and community engagement while advancing its vision of delivering a contemporary and impactful Islamic message that responds to the needs of modern society and supports the development of a cohesive and inclusive community.
