11 Killed, 7 Injured In Deadly Swat Expressway Crash


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Peshawar: At least 11 passengers were killed and seven others injured in a tragic road accident near Ismailia on the Swat Expressway, according to motorway police officials.

The accident occurred when a Hiace van reportedly rammed into a bus parked on the roadside from behind. A motorway police spokesperson said the crash was caused by the negligence of the Hiace driver.

Rescue teams shifted the injured and the bodies of the deceased to nearby hospitals shortly after the incident.

Meanwhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the accident.

“The loss of precious human lives in the Swat Expressway tragedy is heartbreaking,” the governor said in a statement.

He extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“May Allah grant eternal peace to the departed souls and patience to the grieving families,” he added.
