Report Details Tensions Between Trump and Netanyahu Over Iran Talks
(MENAFN) According to reports, a recent phone conversation between Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump became heated amid disagreements over a proposed diplomatic arrangement aimed at ending the conflict with Iran.
Reports citing sources familiar with the discussion said Netanyahu reacted angrily after Trump decided to postpone what had been described as a “very major attack” on Iran following requests from Gulf leaders to allow more time for diplomatic efforts.
One source reportedly described the Israeli prime minister’s reaction by saying his “hair was on fire” after the exchange.
Trump later stated that negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain at a critical stage, saying the two sides are “right on the borderline” between reaching an agreement and returning to military confrontation.
“Either have a deal or we’re going to do some things that are a little bit nasty,” Trump told reporters, while warning that fighting could restart “very quickly” if the United States does not receive “100% good answers.”
According to reports, Netanyahu remains deeply doubtful about the ongoing negotiations and favors resuming military operations in order to further weaken Iran’s military infrastructure and broader strategic capabilities.
Trump, however, reportedly insisted that Netanyahu “will do whatever I want him to do” regarding Iran policy while maintaining that relations between the two leaders remain positive.
