Jordan, Venezuela Seek To Solidify Relations, Expand Cooperation - Safadi
Speaking during a press conference after extensive talks with Venezuela's Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto, Safadi said that discussions focused on practical steps to advance ties and open broader avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
Safadi said that the two sides signed four agreements and memoranda of understanding covering cooperation in the agricultural sector, the establishment of regular political consultations, collaboration between the diplomatic institutes of both countries, and a framework agreement to create a joint economic cooperation committee.
Safadi also said that Jordan and Venezuela are also working to finalise agreements on avoiding double taxation, investment protection, and visa exemptions to facilitate greater cooperation in agriculture, energy, investment, culture, and information technology.
He added that efforts are underway to establish a joint council representing the private sectors in both countries to strengthen economic and investment partnerships.
“The visit marks the beginning of further cooperation between the two countries,” Safadi said, stressing that both sides share the political will to deepen bilateral relations and pursue opportunities for mutual benefit.
Safadi also praised Venezuela's support for the two-state solution, saying that discussions also went over regional developments and ongoing efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in the region.
