During the 'Peddi' music launch, the event's host asked Ram Charan to describe some Indian cricketers in his own unique style. The actor then shared his personal take on each player one by one.

When asked about Sachin Tendulkar, he called him a 'legend' and a long-playing run machine. He described Dhoni as a symbol of patience and calm. For Rohit Sharma, he said he's 'everyone's favourite person', and called Virat Kohli 'a kind of fire'.

But when Jasprit Bumrah's name came up, Ram Charan, while calling himself a huge fan, mixed up cricket and football. He said, 'Bumrah sir, I am your biggest fan. I love football, and you've taken it to greater heights. Love you, sir.' This video clip instantly went viral on social media.

Social media users started discussing that Ram Charan probably confused Jasprit Bumrah with football legend Sunil Chhetri. As soon as he realised his comment could be seen as disrespectful to Bumrah, Ram Charan posted a public apology on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

He wrote, 'I'm genuinely so forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to Jasprit Bumrah Ji for the mix-up.' He called it a 'genuine human error' in the excitement of the large crowd. The 'Peddi' star added, 'I truly respect you and I am a huge fan of your game. You make every Indian feel proud when you take wickets of opposition players'.
