Fenerbahçe Criticizes EuroLeague Over Final Four Ticketing Failures
(MENAFN) Fenerbahçe Beko has sharply criticized the EuroLeague over what it described as serious technical and organizational failures during ticketing arrangements for its Final Four semifinal against Olympiacos.
According to reports, the Turkish club said the issues began on the EuroLeague side the night before the May 22 semifinal and escalated into a broader breakdown of the ticketing system that persisted up until the start of the match.
The club stated that its priority after qualification for the Final Four was to secure tickets for supporters and ensure smooth, safe access to the arena.
“However, the chain of technical and operational problems that started on the EuroLeague side the night before the game and extended to the collapse of the ticketing system could not be resolved until the start of the match,” the statement said.
Reports indicate that Fenerbahçe officials, including board members Adem Koz and Cem Ciritci, were present around the venue throughout the day, attempting to assist fans and address entry problems at turnstiles and access points.
The club also said that shortly before tipoff, additional efforts were made to allow entry for supporters who had been unable to complete the ticketing process or access their tickets.
According to reports, Fenerbahçe had already shared full ticket-related data with EuroLeague organizers, but complications arose due to multiple ticketing systems and external channels used for Final Four sales.
The club announced it would pursue administrative and legal action regarding the matter, describing the situation as an unacceptable breakdown affecting its supporters.
