Trump Signals Possible End Soon to US-Israeli War with Iran
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump suggested Friday that the US-Israeli war with Iran may be nearing an end, telling supporters in New York that the conflict would be concluded soon, according to reports.
“We have stopped them. They're not going to ever have a nuclear weapon. They're never going to have a nuclear weapon. And we'll have that over with soon. It'll be over with soon,” Trump said during remarks to his supporters.
“You're going to see numbers like you've never seen, both on the upside and also in terms of cost; you're going to see cars go down,” he added.
His comments came as diplomatic activity intensified around efforts to end the conflict, with reports indicating that a Qatari delegation is holding talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran as part of mediation efforts involving Pakistan.
Earlier on Friday, Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran as part of Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic initiative, marking his second visit since mediation efforts began.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also been in Tehran in recent days participating in indirect discussions between Washington and Tehran.
The surge in diplomatic engagement comes amid reports that negotiators are gradually narrowing differences in pursuit of a possible agreement to end the war.
